The USPS has announced an increase to its international postage rates for letters and flats. In addition, prices for seven other USPS marketing mail products will increase, too. The letter mail rate will increase by 4.557 percent. The prices of postcards and flats will also go up. Despite the increases, the prices of these items are still competitive. However, it's important to note that these items are still much heavier than letters.

When shipping international letters, it's important to know what to expect. The international postage rates differ by type of mail, size, and port of origin. For example, a letter mailed from the us to China will have a lower price than a letter sent from the us to Canada. In some cases, these rates can be more expensive than one standard domestic postage rate. In some cases, a higher rate will be charged for an artificial beverage or lightweight paper.
The last change to the international postage rate came on Jan. 26, 2014. The cost of a letter to the United States will rise by five cents, from $1.15 to $1.20. The small flat-rate Priority Mail envelope will cost $7.75. But, other Priority Mail services will see a larger increase. The padded flat-rate envelope and small flat-rate box will rise by 40C to $8.40.
